The air dryer is the core component of the truck pneumatic brake system, which is used to remove moisture, oil mist and impurities in the compressed air to ensure the safety and reliability of the brake system.
Air dryer function: 1. Dehydration: Separate liquid water and water vapor in compressed air, 2. Filtration: Intercept oil mist, dust and other particles (filtration accuracy is usually 5-40µm), 3. Pressure regulation: Maintain system pressure stability (usually set at 6.5-8 bar) 4. Regeneration: Automatic discharge of collected pollutants.
Key components of air dryer use: 1. Desiccant tower: absorbs moisture (can be regenerated by 180? hot air after saturation); 2. Oil-water separator: multi-layer stainless steel filter intercepts liquid oil and water
Electric control drain valve; 3. Timing/pressure triggered discharge (such as every 30 minutes or 0.5bar pressure difference):
Pressure sensor; 4. Monitor the pressure difference at both ends of the dryer to indicate that the filter element is blocked (pressure difference > 1.5bar needs to be replaced).
By efficiently removing water, the air dryer can extend the life of components such as brake valves and air bags by more than 3 times, and is a key component to ensure the safe operation of heavy trucks.
